I'm not "offended" by the fact that Project NISEI is showing off that they have an internal political opinion, I'm just disappointed that it comes to the detriment of that low life vibe.
The fight for freedom, for humanity, for identity, for justice, and so on are staples of the genre as much as the grit descriptions, the matrix, netrunning or cybernetics. You're all absolutely right about the fact that cyberpunk is riddled with political statements and opinions. In any case it seems that many people focused on the politics point above instead of the timing, so I want to answer one of the most important topic raised in the responses: politics in the cyberpunk genre.

The scummy tactic of creating the bundle and then announcing the reprint is one of the most unethical moves I've seen a company make against its customers, and the fact that you're babbling about inclusivity while doing it is really the ironical cherry on top. The point is that you really knew it in advance, since you've already shipped Midnight Sun designs without the logo, so you could at least told us before letting a bunch of people buy your spoiling products. I've bought the bundle myself and convinced a friend of mine to do the same, which makes me feel even more guilty since -had I known it in advance- I would have told them to wait for the reprints.

I've just bought the full bundle you made available on DriveThrough for all the NISEI products so far and after less then a week you came up with announcing a reprint of the old products to screw over the people who just joined. Regardless of ruining a fun game with politics, the straw that broke the camel's back is really your last communication of NISEI brand change and relative reprinting. Your recent woke nonsense has no place in a work of fiction, like replacing "brain damage" which has been a staple of cyberpunk literature from its very infancy and has no bearing on reality since it shows the consequences of a brain-computer interface that doesn't really exist yet.
Not everything must be political, and most importantly your ideology doesn't apply to the fans around the world outside of north america, which honestly you should take care as well in the name of the inclusivity that you are virtue signalling. Furthermore, since I have disposable income I've decided to pay more than your Patreon tiers expect, hoping to help you grow and deliver a more refined product as a consequence.However I'm really sad to see that with such growth, you're moving away from the simplicity of the original concept (maintaining a live game where FFG/WOTC failed us) and instead starting perverting the original design by letting your politics sliding into it. I love this fan-made project and, even if I'm only a kitchen table player and I'm still playing through my FFG collection with my family, I've decided many months ago to become a Patreon to support the amazing project for when I'll be able to catch up.
